Did you know the Dettol brand dates back to 1933? Dettol was originally used in hospitals as an antiseptic for mothers who had given birth, and for patients coming out of surgery. At the time, infections could cause deadly complications, but after Dettol was introduced, the incidence of puerperal sepsis fell by 50%
